Fleet diesel mechanics are responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel-powered vehicles, such as buses, trucks, and other large vehicles. They must be knowledgeable in the operation and maintenance of diesel engines, as well as the electrical and mechanical systems associated with them. They must also be familiar with the various types of diesel fuel, lubricants, and other fluids used in diesel engines. In addition, they must be able to diagnose and repair any problems that may arise with the vehicle. Fleet diesel mechanics must also be able to perform preventive maintenance on the vehicles, such as changing the oil, checking the brakes, and inspecting the engine for any signs of wear or damage.
